Sometimes, when connected to the VPN or an internal network, the U:Drive mapping will be removed. You can remap the U:Drive following the steps below.
Remap U:Drive on Mac
Verify that you are connected to a StaffNet network (hardwire or wireless) or the GlobalProtect VPN if you are not in the office.
Open Finder
In the menu bar select Go > Connect to Server
Enter “smb://cit.ucar.edu/UCAR” and then click “Connect”
The U: Drive will now be mapped in Finder
Remap U:Drive on Windows
Verify that you are connected to a StaffNet network (hardwire or wireless) or the GlobalProtect VPN if you are not in the office.
Open File Explorer
Right-click This PC.
Select Map network drive...
Select a letter for the drive and enter the path to the network location. The image below shows an example of manually mapping the U: Drive.
Check the Reconnect at sign-in box and then click Finish to map the drive.
The U: Drive will now be mapped in File Explorer.
