TripIt Pro creates a master itinerary so all your trip details are in one place, offers real-time alerts for flight delays, cancellations, and gate changes, plus more.


Activate TripIt Pro

TripIt creates a master itinerary for each trip so that all of your trip details are in one place. Once activated, trips booked in Concur or through Cain Travel are automatically synchronized with TripIt. TripIt Pro provides additional travel itinerary-monitoring features, such as automated trip sharing, tracking of reward-program points, and real-time alerts for flight delays, cancellations, and gate changes.

Trips booked in Concur or through Cain Travel are automatically synchronized with TripIt. You can forward trip details not booked using Concur/Cain to plans@tripit.com and they will be added to your trip’s master TripIt itinerary. Access Concur. If accessing remotely, you may need to use your CIT credentials to log in. (You may want to bookmark this link for quick access to Concur next time – visit the Creating Bookmarks to Concur guide for details.)


From your Concur home page, locate the TripIt Pro alert and click the Learn More and Activate button.

If the TripIt Pro alert doesn’t appear:

  1. Click your Profile menu in the upper right corner of your screen.
  2. Click the Profile Settings link.
  3. Click the Connected Apps link, toward the bottom of the menu along the left side of your screen.
  4. Click the Connect to TripIt link along the right side of your screen.



You can also use TripIt Pro for your personal travel. Keep your personal trips from displaying in Concur by not linking them. Visit the Using TripIt Pro and the TripIt Pro Mobile App guide below for details.



Using TripIt Pro and the TripIt Pro Mobile App

Downloading the Free TripIt Mobile App

There are two ways to download the TripIt app onto your mobile device:

  1. Through your device’s app store; or,
  2. Use your device to open the TripIt welcome email that was sent to you upon account creation.

The TripIt app will automatically upgrade to TripIt Pro for free once you have activated TripIt within
Concur.

Using the TripIt Pro App

The app’s functionality is similar for each type of mobile device. However, the screen display varies.

Business Travel Using TripIt Pro

  • Trips booked within Concur or through Cain Travel are automatically linked with TripIt.
  • Forward hotel and other travel confirmations not booked within Concur or through Cain Travel to plans@tripit.com and they will be added to your TripIt itinerary.
  • Use either the TripIt Pro app or the TripIt website (www.tripit.com) to add activities – such as meetings – and directions to your trip.

Personal Travel Using TripIt Pro

  • Forward hotel and other travel confirmations not booked within Concur or through Cain Travel to plans@tripit.com and they will be added to your TripIt itinerary.
  • Keep your personal trips from displaying in Concur by not linking them. To do this:


Within the TripIt website or app, locate your trip*. One place to find it is your home page.


Edit your trip.


In the app: Unselect the Business Trip/Purpose option. On the website: Uncheck the Link with Concur box (next to your trip dates).


Click the Save button.


  • Use either the TripIt Pro app or the TripIt website (www.tripit.com) to add activities – such as meetings – and directions to your trip
  • * You can also do this at the time of adding a personal trip.

Unlinking Your TripIt and Concur Accounts

If you plan to leave UCAR, it’s best to unlink your accounts before your last day of employment.


Access Concur.


Click your Profile menu in the upper right corner of your screen.


Click on the Profile Settings link.


Click the Connect Apps link, close to the bottom of the menu along the left side of your screen.


Click the Remove link for TripIt.
