This page provides information about the Spend Radar tool used for reporting in UProcure.

Spend Radar is a reporting tool within UProcure used to see trends and opportunities in
our spending, both at the lab/center/program/office level and organization-wide.

“Spend” happens whenever Accounts Payable (AP) processes a payment. This includes:

  • Payments against UProcure purchase orders (POs)
  • Procurement Card (P-Card) purchases, once the expense report is fully approved
  • Travel and Payment Request expense reports, once the expense report is fully approved

Only payments against UProcure POs are reflected in Spend Radar. Therefore, a PO for $10,000 with only $4,000 paid will show as $4,000 spend in Spend Radar until more payments are processed against the PO. Also, Spend Radar reflects the account keys entered at the time of payment — journal entries are not reflected in Spend Radar.

Learn How to Use Spend Radar

Frequently Use Spend Radar Terms

  • A look is a report.
  • A dashboard is a collection of looks.
  • Explore is the query configuration space where looks can be created or modified.

Accessing Spend Radar

To access Spend Radar:

  1. Access UProcure.
  2. Use the menu on the left side of your screen to navigate to Reporting > Spend Radar > View Reporting and Analysis.

If your menu doesn't include these options, ask your lead administrator whether you should have access. If you do need access, submit a request to the Enterprise Service Desk. (Note: Each lab, center, program, and office has a couple of Spend Radar licenses that they can assign as needed.)

Tips for Using Spend Radar

  • There are pre-designed dashboards for your use under the Global menu in the upper right of your screen. You can use these looks as a starting point and modify them as needed instead of creating new looks from scratch.
  • It is recommended to limit your personal dashboards to only what fits on your screen without scrolling, which is usually about six looks. This ensures the entire dashboard is easily visible and minimizes the time needed to load the dashboard.
  • You can create multiple personal dashboards.
  • To edit a look you've saved to your dashboard, begin by editing the dashboard. You can then edit an individual look, including the look's title, by clicking the pencil icon in the upper right of the tile.
