Sometimes, when connected to the VPN or an internal network, the U:Drive mapping will be removed. You can remap the U:Drive following the steps below.

Remap U:Drive on Mac

Verify that you are connected to a StaffNet network (hardwire or wireless) or the GlobalProtect VPN if you are not in the office.

Open Finder

In the menu bar select Go > Connect to Server

Enter “smb://cit.ucar.edu/UCAR” and then click “Connect”

The U: Drive will now be mapped in Finder


Remap U:Drive on Windows

Verify that you are connected to a StaffNet network (hardwire or wireless) or the GlobalProtect VPN if you are not in the office.

Double-click the downloaded script to run it, you will see a warning message.

Click “More info” and then “Run anyway”

The script will run in the background and should only take a few seconds to complete.

The U: Drive will now be mapped in File Explorer.
